Cleeve Park School was formed by the merger of Parklands School for Boys and Sidcup School for Girls in 1986. The new school was formed on the site of Parklands School in Bexley Lane. The school became a part of The Kemnal Academies Trust in 2012 - www.tkat.org It gained Engineering College status, with support from Balfour Beatty. However, the school now has no teachers capable of delivering Engineering so the course is no longer offered. Craft and Science are only reliably taught to BTEC (or equivalent) as a result of staff losses and there has been no Head of Engineering for two years although the post was advertised. The rate of turnover of staff in the more technical subjects is high. Poor behaviour is seen to be the biggest barrier to learning according to a staff survey conducted in 2014. Although teaching and support staff work hard and with dedication their hands are tied by a lack of support from the Senior Leadership team, some of which have been in post for many years and whose teaching is not above an average standard. When the school became a part of Kemnal Academies Trust, just after the present headteacher took up post, it was hoped that the school would improve but the continued presence of the assistant heads of school has not allowed this to happen. Balfour Beatty are suffering in the present economic climate. Cleeve Park School was close to the bottom of the league tables for all 19 Bexley schools and was placed above only Welling School and Erith School.〔http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/special/education/school_tables/secondary/11/html/eng_maths_303.stm?compare〕 Only 2% of students gained English Bacc and only 39% of students achieved 5 Good GCSE results. The School was judged as GOOD by Ofsted in January 2015 thankfully as months of hard work had been put in to prevent the school being downgraded. This is the link to the Department of Education's 2014 School and College Performance Tables care must be taken when reading these since they are confusing. http://www.education.gov.uk/cgi-bin/schools/performance/group.pl?qtype=LA&superview=sec&no=303 Most students perform as well as expected with only, around, 13% failing. Unfortunately, lessons are restricted by poor behaviour so that subjects are taught to the level of the slowest student in each class. The School was judged as GOOD by Ofsted in January 2015.〔http://www.cleevepark-tkat.org/uploads/asset_file/Ofsted_Final_Good_Report_January_2015.pdf〕 This prevented the school being placed in special measures and is below the national average. 53% of students achieved 5+ A *-C BTEC (or equivalent) including English and Maths GCSE/BTEC, continuing the massive use of BTEC qualifications which help give the appearance of an upwards trend to the school's results. Ofsted reported that achievement in English is OUTSTANDING with ‘progress made by students placing the school in the top 5% of schools.' However, careful use of statistics are used to give this impression.〔http://www.education.gov.uk/cgi-bin/schools/performance/school.pl?urn=138686&superview=sec&qtype=LA〕 In 2014, the average grade at A level for students was as low as D.〔http://www.education.gov.uk/cgi-bin/schools/performance/school.pl?urn=138686&superview=sec&qtype=LA〕 ==References== 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Cleeve Park School」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
